One year ago...
I said goodbye to my parents, most of my siblings, and the house where I grew up...
I left a stable part time job and a community theatre.
I joyously abandoned the horrid Midwestern weather.
I decided to give up the familiar.
One year ago...
I got on a plane and flew across the country.
I moved in with my sister.
I started a new phase of my life.
Now...
My house in Indiana is being torn down and my parents are moving to a place I've never seen.
My baby sister is almost done with college.
My older brother is going to have another kid.
My hair is short.
I have a full-time job with some wonderful people.
I can wear flip flops in January and only be slightly chilly.
I own a car...and a smart phone.
I rent a room from a fantastic family.
I have a loving and supportive church family.
I have 2 nephews and a niece who adore their "Auntie Bea"
I have a dear friend who moved here to work with me.
I have two best friends in my sisters.
I have a gym membership....
Now...
I am an unabashed geek.
I have an equally geeky (and ridiculously adorable) boyfriend.
I may be moving across the country again.
All things considered...it's been a good year.
So much has happened...
I can't wait to start the next phase of my life.
