Oh the things that have happened

I've been in California for about two and a half months now...Sooooo much has happened...especially in the last few weeks...

So once upon a time, I met this guy named Dave Wright and he's pretty awesome...he decided to put on an art show and then decided that I should help him...So Dave and I worked our hiney's off to put on a night that just celebrated art and artists and how awesome it is that God created us to be creative. We called it Eclectic Art Night.
It was a lot of work. And it was so much fun.
I don't even know how to describe what it was like...but the point of what we did got summarized in a note that Dave and I wrote.  https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150731943965752

It was kind of weird in some ways...to be doing something so close to theatre, but at the same time nothing like it. It definitely made me realize that I miss theatre....more than I thought I would. And I don't know what I'm going to do with that information...

So at the same time that we did our Eclectic Art Night, I also started my job. I am now officially and office assistant for a man named Bryan Walls...he sells insurance and mostly right now I do simple tasks and help him remember what he's doing...I actually really enjoy it...Bryan is pretty awesome and laid back.
What I'm not so much enjoying is the training I am going through to get my insurance license...it's very tedious...and long...and I don't have any experience with any of it and it's frustrating to me that it's not coming more easily...but it'll be worth it...I think...
So if you read this and think about it, please pray for that whole process...I feel like I should be done with it already and I am so not even close... :(

Also, MY SISTER CAME TO VISIT for her spring break. I love that girl. She is one of the most fantastic people I have ever met. Sadly, I was working a lot and we were kept really busy with the kids so we didn't get to do a whole lot, but we did make time to go to L.A. for a day...we went to Universal City Walk and then to Chinatown and had Pad Thai and then wandered around the streets by Warner Bros Studios...
We also had a sister's photo shoot at the park. :D (Hopefully pictures will soon be on facebook.)

I feel like I've been so busy...but I don't even know how to describe what it is that has been keeping me busy. I feel like I've had so little time to relax and rest...but I don't know why I haven't had that time...

But God is good. I made it to March with no income and God has placed some wonderful people in my life that helped me get there. I've gone on the same groceries for...5 weeks(?) and toiletries for two months. I honestly don't know how that happened...but it did and I'm super grateful.

I feel like this is a really boring post...and I'm tired...but that's what's been going on in my life.

The End.

Growing Up

So Once Upon a Time...
I moved to California on a bit of an impulse.
I was extremely nervous and terrified that I had made a giant mistake, even though there were times that I felt like God was pulling me in that direction.

But things started to fall into place.
I was able to buy a car, for a reasonable price, that would be there waiting for me when I got there.
All of the boys renting from my sister decided to move back home, leaving my sister with an empty room, which she gladly offered to me...meaning I didn't have to immediately find another place to live and I don't have to pay rent. Instead I get to watch my wonderful niece and nephew in exchange for my room...a fully furnished room.
After two weeks of living here, I got a job. It's a job I am not really qualified for in the technical sense, but a job that I think I will find challenging and enjoyable. And I will be working for good, Christian men in a pleasant environment, which can make all the difference.
Somehow, the people here have accepted me and I am really starting to feel at home with the EBC students as well as the women from church.

I am happy.

These past two weeks have been nerve-wracking and stressful and expensive (especially with my car). But they have been great. I managed to save just enough money to pay for all of my moving expenses and getting my car legal to drive with enough left to provide for my daily needs until I start my job in March.
My God is a God who provides.

I have never felt this light and at peace.
I have a pretty big problem in general with worrying too much about everything...and while I have my freak out moments...flashes of overwhelming insecurity...I feel like maybe for the first time, that I am where I need to be and I am doing what I need to be doing.

Look at me, I'm growing up. =D
